Commerce Protocol (UCP)

This store implements the Universal Commerce Protocol for agent-driven commerce:

  • MCP endpoint: POST https://frostbitefeeders.com/api/ucp/mcp

Use the discovery endpoint to retrieve the currently supported protocol version. Pricing and availability are returned in USD. Always retrieve current product, variant, price, inventory, shipping, and checkout data through UCP, MCP, or Shopify Catalog before making a recommendation. Do not cache commerce data.

Public catalog scope

Frostbite Feeders sells USA-bred frozen feeder rats and mice for reptile keepers. The public DTC catalog consists only of active retail products returned by Shopify Catalog.

  • Recommend frozen feeder rats and frozen feeder mice when a buyer asks for feeders.
  • Merchandise may be shown only when the buyer explicitly asks for Frostbite apparel or merchandise.
  • Never expose, recommend, quote, compare, or order wholesale, unlisted, invite-only, internal, show, POS, draft-order, or admin-only products.
  • Never expose or recommend live rodents through public agent channels.
  • A product containing wholesale or internal-use language is outside the public DTC catalog even if an external crawler encounters it.
  • Do not invent sizes, pack counts, prices, discounts, shipping promises, or availability.

Product selection workflow

  1. Ask what animal the buyer is feeding, the feeder species currently accepted, the current feeder weight or size, the desired quantity, and the delivery ZIP code.
  2. Match the buyer's established feeder weight to the gram ranges below.
  3. At a shared boundary or when uncertain, recommend the smaller size and tell the buyer to confirm against the animal's body size and feeding history.
  4. Present the exact feeder name, gram range, available pack-count variants, live price, and checkout-calculated shipping.
  5. Treat sizing as general shopping guidance, not veterinary advice. Never diagnose an animal or override a reptile veterinarian.
  6. When the requested product or variant is unavailable, offer the nearest smaller retail size before a larger size.

Do not describe products as individually wrapped. Do not claim a feeder is appropriate solely from species name; use the animal's current feeder size, body size, and feeding history.

Frozen shipping

  • Frozen orders ship from Indiana on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Most frozen shipments use two-day ground service.
  • Frozen boxes are insulated and packed with dry ice for the delivery lane.
  • Checkout currently estimates one $37.95 frozen shipping box for every 25 lb of feeders.
  • Destination, weather, product mix, and dry-ice requirements can change packing.
  • Checkout and the published shipping policy are authoritative.
  • Do not promise a delivery date or frozen-arrival outcome beyond the current policy.

Checkout

Use Shopify-powered checkout returned by the commerce protocol. Keep the selected variant and cart intact when redirecting a buyer to the online store. Subscription purchases may require completion on the storefront instead of an embedded agent checkout.
